Security & Barcode Labels

How to make Security and Barcode labels:
Step 1: Load the media.
In this case the operator knows he is using ImageCal "R" (removable) Clear vinyl.
Open the printer and load the media.
The printer will also tell the operator what media to load if they are remotely located, or not the person sending the job to the printer.
|
Step 2: Send the Job to the Gerber Edge FX.
Once the job is created, it is sent to the production part of the software. This allows you to queue up many jobs for the most cost effective work flow.
For this particular job you will need to flip the image and reverse the order in which the colors print so it reads right from the adhesive side when you stick it to the wind shield. There is a button in the production software to do this.
Then send the job to the Edge FX via the "Print" button in the software. Full instruction and technical support is available and recommended when you purchase a Gerber Edge system.
|
Step 3: Activate the Edge FX.
Once the job is sent to the Edge FX, follow the prompts that the printer displays.
|
Step 4: Load a GerberColor.
The Edge FX will also tell you what GerberColor foils the job needs, and will follow the order in which you tell them to print.
Load Gerber Silver Medal Ribbon. Activate the printer. |
Step 5: Load the next color.
At the end of the first color, the Edge FX will return the media to the start position.
Load GerberColor Green. Activate the Printer. |
Step 6: Remove the media.
When the Edge FX is done printing, remove the media from the Edge. |
Step 7: Load the media and laminate on the laminator.
Load the media and laminate on to the laminator.
Laminate with Pro-Patch 4 mil white laminate. Then remove the laminated media. Once laminated, you have the option of printing more information on the laminate for a double sided label. This step is excluded from the video. |
Step 8: Place the media in the Cutter.
Load your media into the Gerber cutter and adjust the knife to the desired depth of the cut. Perform a test cut if you want to verify correct cutting depth.
(The Gerber enVision 375 cutter is filmed in this video) |
Step 9: Align the cut target.
Align the printed target using the bombsite. You are now ready to cut. |
Step 10: Digitally cut the media.
Activate the cutter to cut the labels. Remove the waste if you need to after cutting.
Now go enjoy the praise! |
