Control Panel Overlays

How To Make Control Panels and Overlays

Load Media

Step 1: Load the media.

In this case the operator is using Armalex reverse print polycarbonate.
Open the printer and load the media.

The printer will also tell the operator what media to load if they are remotely located, or not the person sending the job to the printer.

Step 2: Send the Job to the Gerber Edge FX.

Once the job is created, it is sent to the production part of the software. This allows you to queue up many jobs for the most cost effective work flow.

Armalex and the LexEdge family of products are loaded with the rough side down. Most have a protective liner that protects the printable surface. The liner is thin and easy to remove before printing.

Then send the job to the Edge FX via the "Print" button in the software. (Full instruction and technical support is available and recommended when you purchase a Gerber Edge system.)

Active Printer

Step 3: Activate the Edge FX.

Once the job is sent to the Edge FX, follow the prompts that the printer displays.

Load a color

Step 4: Load a GerberColor Foil.

The Edge FX will also tell you what GerberColor foils the job needs, and will follow the order in which you tell them to print.

Load Gerber Intense Blue Ribbon. Activate the printer.

Load next color

Step 5: Load the next color.

At the end of the first color, the Edge FX will return the media to the start position.

Load Black. Activate the Printer. Repeat for Light Grey, Dark Grey, Yellow, and Floodcoat White.

Remove media

Step 6: Remove the media.

Once the Edge is done printing the colors, remove the media from the Edge.

Adjust Blade

Step 7: Place the media in the Cutter.

Load your media into the Gerber cutter and adjust the knife to the desired depth of the cut.

(You must use the Gerber GS15 cutter to get the correct cut)

Align

Step 8: Align the cut target.

Align the printed target using the bombsite. You are now ready to cut.

Cut!

Step 9: Digitally cut the media.

Activate the cutter to cut the overlays. Remove the panels from web if you need to after cutting. When cut properly, the finished pieces should snap out of the roll of material easily.

Now go enjoy the praise!
